SPA and Fusion @Ramside Hall

We all love a good pamper session and what better place to do that then in a very special hotel like Ramside Hall Hotel.

Up until a couple of weeks ago I had never visited the Hotel. I had driven past it more times than I care to remember, but it was lovely to get an insight in to what goes on beyond the entrance on the A690.

Very excited to see what was on offer I was blown away when I pulled in. Such a large hotel complex and so many things to do.

The entrance to the Spa/Fusion is gorgeous and was all decorated ready for Christmas with Polar Bears and a Snow Theme running throughout.

The team were very attentive and we were given a talk and a guided tour from Jasmine the Membership Coordinator. As well as some lovely welcome drinks ….

The one thing that stood out for me from the chat we had was that Ramside Hall were the first Hotel in the country to offer treatments that are aimed specifically at Cancer patients. I really wanted to know more about this and asked Jasmine if she could go in to more detail and this is what I found out….

Ashleigh Lamb The Senior Therapist explained…..

Upon working for Ramside, I have taken part in extensive training here at the spa, one of my courses being Wellness for Cancer. Our Wellness treatments are all tailored made to our guests by how they are feeling and the results they would like to achieve. The training involved passing numerous case studies before gaining a certificate, so our highly trained therapists are sure to personalise the perfect treatment for you.

The training consisted of completing online modules, each one lasted around 45minutes. We then watched clips from doctors and the Director of Wellness for Cancer to help us complete our online exams. The director, Julie Batch then came to the Spa and took us through a two day practical training course. We carried interactive practical activities to learn specialised massage techniques and how to incorporate them into our ESPA Massage and Facial treatments.” Continue reading

I won a takeaway……

Ok, so it’s a million miles away from my other posts so far, but the idea is you get a glance in to what goes on in my life so here you are……

Part of my chill out time on a night involves me entering competitions, I don’t go mad but I do like the prospect of winning the odd thing. I have friends who have won allsorts but in our case, the closest we had ever got, up until a few weeks ago, was a bag of plant food!

So the other week, with a glass of wine in hand, I did what I do most nights. Enter competitions……

A couple of days later I got a message from Mr.Men Little Miss.

They informed me that I had won their competition and I had one a Little Miss baby outfit. (Hoping for a baby girl in amongst all the pregnant people I know so I can gift it out).

An hour later I got a message from Smart Hospitality Supplies.

They informed me that I had won 12 A4 table blackboards. Now you may ask what on earth I will do with all of them, I will share that with you soon…..

A couple of days went by and I got a ping on my phone, I had won two tickets too the BST Hyde Park to see Mumford and Sons amongst others. Courtesy of South African Tourism UK.

Now I love Mumford and Sons but due to transport and hotel costs, me going was just not possible so I got in touch with my lovely Uncle and cousin to see if they were free. So they have been gifted the tickets, on the condition I get photos to prove they have had fun.

Then came my takeaway…..the lovely Deborah over at Country Heart and Home, nominated me as deserving a special treat.

I only went and won!

So on a visit to the Metro Centre yesterday, after having lunch at Big Lukes for a blog review, and doing over 10 000 steps around Ikea and the Metro Centre itself, we went to collect my prize.

I have to say the Manager was fantastic. We enjoyed a Coconut Mojito each (mine non alcoholic being the designated driver) whilst awaiting my Takeaway.

The wait for my food wasn’t long, and the smells coming from the bag were amazing. We had a lovely chat with the Manager and came away.

Once getting the kids settled and up to bed I set about the eating part…..WOW……the food was amazing. The meat was lean and moist, the sauces were jam packed with flavour and the portions were good too. What you see in the boxes fed two of us and a little one. (Chicken Satay, Jasmine Rice and Chicken with Garlic and Pepper)

We would most certainly go back again, next time for a sit down meal and maybe even to do a more in depth review…..

Keeping my fingers crossed for another win soon….maybe even another bag of plant food 😉 xxx
